    Description

    A rare Batak Piso Gading from the Lake Toba Region of Central Sumatra. This sword has a slightly waisted horn hilt which is mounted on a course crafted, locally forged steel blade. The
    slender blade
    curves slightly toward the point on the cutting edge. The blade finish is darkened either with forging scale
    or perhaps some preserve. There are slight, fine nicks on the forward cutting edge.
    The two piece, hardwood scabbard is mounted with a brass throat and tip with an additional two brass bands. The tip is finished with an antler point. The brass work is decorated with both incised scrolls snd bas relief design.
    An attractive and scarce Indonesian sword, in good collectible condition.
