For the pleasure of your eyes is a rare gorgeous Badihi handmade multi-pendant and multi-bead necklace. Red coral stones and Ottoman-era Bakelite beads entertain the strands of the necklace.
Handmade by the renown Badihi silversmiths who, like the Bowsani, were among the top silversmiths of pre-1930 Yemen. The Badihi, and Bowsani, were Yemenite Jewish silversmiths that made some of the finest quality silver jewelry in the region.
This piece is roughly over a 100 years old. It is an absolutely worthy museum quality item.
Please note that the majority of antique Yemenite jewelry were made from melted down Maria Theresa thaler silver coins. MTTs were considered the highest quality of silver at that time, with a content of 83.33% silver. MTTs were for a time used as official currency in Yemen, and widely used in the Middle East, due to the high respect the silver coins earned for their high silver content.
