A stunning big antique Victorian 15K rose gold Persian turquoise cabochon floral ring with a 9K band, the band hallmarked to 1896. This large and gorgeous Victorian ring most likely started life off as a brooch or stick pin, the solid 15K rose gold ring with a lovely eye catching floral design of three high and complex wedding-cake like tiers with a total of 26 beautiful Persian turquoise cabochons consisting of a large oval central cabochon surrounded by a middle tier of small round cabochons, the lower tier with larger round cabochons, most cabochons a glorious robin's egg blue color with some greener cabochons for contrast, all cabochons have been multi prong set in a raised gallery, the ring with a solid 9K rose gold band with nice tapered floral decorated shoulders-outstanding! The band has full English hallmarks with maker 'EV' for Edward Vaughton (registered 1886, operated until circa 1912), the Chester town mark, '9 375' and date letter 'N' for 1896. The ring tests for 15K gold and the band tests for 9K gold. The ring is approximately a size 6 1/2. The ring measures approximately 20mm x 15mm across the face. The large turquoise cabochon measures approximately 9mm x 6mm, the medium cabochons about 3mm and the small 2mm. The ring rises approximately 15mm above the finger and weighs approximately 7.0 grams. The ring is in general very good condition with all over general light wear. There is some chipping to the edges of a few of the cabochons and the ring has been resized.
